An investigation into how the eugenics of the 1900s and contemporary AI technologies categorise, label and standardise humans and the human experience. My sami body is a medium that glues these two experimental periods together. The past and the present. The title and placement of the sculptures are inspired by an artificial neural network, the kind used to build the algorithms behind artificial intelligence. On the metal shelves you can follow the transformation of the bodily ceramic sculptures through the different steps in this process of learning, exploitation and standardisation.
Exhibited at the group show Bakom hörnet vindens jojk at Sven-Harrys Art Museum in Stockholm 2020.
